Remembering Preben Kaas

Danish comedian, actor, singer, screenwriter and director Preben Kaas was born on March 30, 1930 in Aalborg, Denmark. He was the son of conductor Robert Kaas. He appeared in small film roles. At the same time he was also a stage actor, writer and director. He was in demand in the 1960s and '70s. During this time he appeared in 55 films and made two Eurowesterns: “Tough Guys of the Prairie” (1970) and “Gold for Tough Guys of the Prairie” (1971). He was married to actresses Mari Lie (1970-1975) and Lisbet Dahl (1977-1981). He was the father of actors Jeppe and Nikolai Lie Kaas. Kaas comitted suicide on March 27, 1981. Today we remember Preban Kaas on what would have been his 80th birthday.
