Remembering Gloria Milland

Born Maria Fiè on October 11, 1940 in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy she’s known to us as Gloria Milland. Gloria only had a 10 year career in films starting in 1959 with "Fantasmi e ladri" directed by Giorgio Simonetti she would appear in Sword and Sandal films and horror films but her main genre were the Euro-westerns. Strangely she would appear as older women and mothers in most of these films although she was only in her 30's. Gloria appeared in nine westerns starting with "The Sword of Zorro" (1963) this was followed up with "Gunfight at High Noon" as the mother of Richard Harrison, Robert Hundar and Miguel Palenzuela. Other westerns included "Hands of a Gunman" and "Seven Hours of Gunfire" (1965), "Dakota Joe" and a Few Bullets More" (1967) as the mother of Peter Lee Lawrence. Her final film appearance was in "Hate for Hate" (1968) with John Ireland and Antonio Sabato. Gloria died in 1993 she was only 53 years-old.

Today we remember Gloria Milland on what would have been her 60th birthday.
