RIP Tony Norton

RIP Antonio Monselesan. Again you say who? Antonio Monselesan was better known as actor Tony Norton, born on August 2, 1941 in Libya to Italian parents. Despite his more than 40 film roles, his passion was the sport of boxing. Once fighting for the Italian middleweight title. In Alicante, where he lived for 20 years, he became known as "Don Antonio". Since 2005 he lived in Lucca in Tuscany, where he was still active as a boxing coach for the boxing club "Pugilistica Lucchese" until shortly before his death.

To Euro-western fans he will of course remain primarily remembered for his portrayals in several Terence Hill/Bud Spencer films as the dressed in black bounty hunter and the professional gambler "Wildcat Hendricks" who we will always remember standing at the counter challenging Terence Hill to a duel and in rapid sequences being slapped silly by Hills quick hands and fast draw.
